 We are looking to recruit caring, professional, suitably qualified Doctors to work across all grades and specialties on a bank basis. Here at the Royal Free we are keen to grow our existing team of Bank Doctors and are looking for Doctors on an ‘as and when’ basis, across, but not limited to, the following specialties:

  • Anaesthetics
  • General Medicine
  • Obstetrics & Gynaecology
  • Orthopaedics
  • Paediatrics
  • General Surgery

Our acute services are predominantly delivered from our three major sites at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, London, Barnet General Hospital in Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital based in Enfield. All are served by excellent public transport links and have onsite parking or nearby off site free parking.

By providing them with support, nurses will feel inspired about their role and are far more likely to remain within the profession. Thus, nurses make a better contribution to patient’s experience whilst in their care.
The Nurse Rotation Programme (18 months Programme)

The Nurse Rotation Foundation Programme is structured with the concept to go further and beyond than that of the preceptorship period. This will allow us to lay a good foundation for nurses to be able to provide quality care with maximum benefits gained from the investment of their learning and development. 

The programme consists of taught study days and competencies to be achieved in the work base.

For Surgical Nurse Rotation

Our rotational programme spans over 18 months and each 6 month assignment offers you exposure to a specific patient cohort and area of practice:

There are three surgical speciality wards within the division.
1. Ward Areas:
 Kennedy Ward, Trauma and Elective Orthopaedics. 
 Jersey ward, Colorectal Surgery.

2. Pagett Ward (Gynaecology and Breast Surgery) 
 Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU)

3. Acute Care

In this exciting role you will be working with specialised nursing teams are there to support and encourage you to enhance your skills for the future. This is an excellent time to join a friendly team of staff in the Division of Surgery who are willing to share their knowledge and skills with you.
