These posts are to join the middle grade rota in the brand new Children’s Emergency Department, with the addition of a co located short stay unit in 2019.

The posts would suit registrars looking to improve their CV, or post CCT doctors looking to be given more management/ quality improvement/ simulation experience prior to obtaining a consultant post.

Fellowships can be provided in quality improvement and simulation, in addition to experience in procedural sedation, pre hospital care and all aspects of paediatric emergency care and management of a children’s short stay area.. We are a recognised PERUKI site and are proactive in participating in studies. The successful applicants would be on a middle grade rota – providing advice to junior doctors, while being supported by a large cohort of consultants. The applicants would be expected to be competent to manage acutely ill and injured children as the most senior doctor in the area.

The post will involve looking after medically unwell children as well as injured children. When the short stay unit is collocated, then the post holders would be expected to manage this area, with appropriate consultant support.

Appointment will be made under local contractual terms and conditions of service for Trust appointed (non-training fellow doctors and dentists) which will be published and available at time of offers.

Grades for Trust appointed (non-training) fellows will be paid a basic salary at a nodal pay point linked to the grade, at the rate set out in the National Medical and Dental pay circular. Basic salary detailed below plus any additional remuneration (as applicable) for hours set out in the doctors work schedule (e.g. additional hours, weekend allowance, and any hours which attract enhanced pay)
