Band 3 Healthcare Science Assistant (MLA) in Microbiology - Derby site based

Our busy microbiology department is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Medical Laboratory Assistants to join our team.

You MUST have already gained experience in a laboratory environment as a Microbiology Technician.

The successful applicants will support the Biomedical Scientists by performing a wide variety of tasks associated with the processing of samples. Duties vary between departments and include the sorting, preparation, processing and handling of blood, urine, tissue and bodily fluids. 

You will also be required to undertake housekeeping duties, maintenance of equipment and disposal of clinical waste therefore the ability to multi-task and work flexibly are essential.

We are part of a modern laboratory within the newly formed Derbyshire Pathology joint venture for Derby and Chesterfield labs which are both accredited to ISO 15189.
