Job Description:

  • o support the people who use our service to reach their full potential
  • Ensure that all the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met including personal care, participation with activities, support with daily living tasks
  • Respond to or refer to your Manager any questions or concerns expressed by anyone using the service, visiting the service or in the local community
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures, including compliance with Health and Safety, Security regulations
  • Keep up-to-date with any changes to policies, procedures or regulations that affect the service
  • Take responsibility for your own personal development and attendance at training both mandatory and service specific
  • Report any incidents of abuse, mistreatment or failures within the service to the Service Manager or next available management level
  • Fulfil any duties requested by your manager
  • Support the Service Manager and service through attendance at marketing events, e.g. open days, fairs, sports days etc
  • Present the service in a positive light and be proactive in making suggestions for how to improve the service
  • Take responsibility for the safe working environment for yourself, colleagues and the people who use our service
  • Professional and compassionate
  • Work within the NMC code of Practice
  • Computer literate
  • Motivated to work within a multidisciplinary setting
  • Able to work flexible shift patterns
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Enjoy working with patients who may present with challenging behaviours and have complex mental health problems
  • You will have to write reports and attend: CPA's, Tribunals and Managers Hearings

  •  Attend to personal care of the people who use our service as required
  • Where appropriate, support the people who use our service at meal times enabling them to eat their food with dignity
  •  Where appropriate administer medication to the people who use our service.
  • Support the people who use our service in daily activities within or outside the service
  • Where appropriate support the people who use our service with budgeting.

Job Requirements:

  • Complete risk assessments and review the abilities of the people who use our service for the preparation of assessment reports.
  • Support the people who use our service by implementing any actions as specified in their person centred care plans
  • Support the people who use our service to attend appointments and outside activities e.g. medical, dental, college, social activities, employment
  • Where appropriate complete daily administration including updating person centred care plans, updating charts, writing reports.
  • Support the people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in ways that they choose
  • Any other duty as specified by your manager to assist in ensuring the service runs as smoothly as possible
